With the exclusion of emergency vehicules no person shall operate a vehicule within any park or parkland other than in those areas which have been designated for use by vehicules and for the particular type of vehicule involved;
No person shall operate a snowmobile in any park or parkland except for events which have been previously authorized by the Director of Recreation, or in areas which have been designated for such use;
No person shall camp in or use any park or parkland for overnight sleeping other than in designated camping areas within a park or parkland without first having obtained approval from the Director of Recreation;
No person shall deposit or strew any refuse, litter or any other pollutant in any park or parkland except in the receptacles provided for for that purpose;
No person shall kill, maim or in any way injure or molest any animal, bird, waterfowl or fish within a park or parkland;
No person shall permit any pet to run at large within any park or parkland;
No person shall have in his possession any intoxicating beverage on any park or parkland except in areas duly designated by the Recreational Committee and in accordance with The Liquor Control Act, the regulations contained thereto, The Liquor Licence Act and the regulations contained thereto in force from time to time in the Province of Ontario;
Any person convicted of a breach of any of the provisions of this by-law shall be liable to pay a fine not exceeding the sum of not less than $25.00 or more than $500.00 for each offence.
This by-law shall be enforced by the Municipal law Enforcement Officers or any other persons appointed by the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Cumberland.
Forbidden Uses on All Conservation Lands
- Encroachment
Homeowners shall not encroach onto Conservation Lands by building fences or installing private equipment such as picnic tables, sheds and play equipment.
- Tree Removal
Removal of live trees shall be strictly prohibited unless authorized by the Parks and Recreation Department for activities such as trail-blazing.
- Defacement of Natural Features
This includes the removal, painting, carving or other damages to natural features such as trees, shrubs, wild flowers and rock formations.
- Fires
Fires shall be prohibited unless located in the designated fire pit areas as proposed by this policy and authorized by the Parks and Recreation Department and the Fire Department for use by organized community groups.
- Fire Arms
This includes all hunting equipment such as firearms, air rifles, bows and arrows.
- Hunting or Trapping
Removal of wildlife shall be strictly prohibited unless authorized by the By-Law Enforcement Officer on recommendation of the Parks and Recreation Department. This would normally be in cases where an animal has become dangerous to the safety and security of residents and their property.
